Cinnamon Myrtle powder, flakes or Whole Leaf  - Backhousia myrtifolia

Cinnamon Myrtle is used in savoury recipes, deserts, confectionary and herbal teas.

Add to curries, stews and rice dishes (wonderful in steamed rice). Mix with lemon myrtle and chilli and add to breadcrumb mix. Can also be used in biscuits, sweets and slices – anywhere cinnamon is used.

Cinnamon Myrtle makes a calming medicinal tea useful for Dyspepsia, heartburn, colic and the digestive system.

    I used cinnamon myrtle to make biscuits, I have to say I did not get any notes of cinnamon. Maybe with a different recipe I will get more of the experience. I will keep experimenting!!

    I bought cinnamon myrtle to use in place of regular cinnamon as it is reputed to have a pleasant spicy cinnamon like aroma and flavor.
