Old Man Saltbush is a familiar sight over vast areas in the dry inland of Australia. In some areas of outback NSW lamb are enclosed in paddocks of saltbush for their final three months resulting in a tender, tasty, fat reduced meat.
The Ground Saltbush that we sell comes from plants that have been nurtured resulting in a different flavour from the wild variety.
Saltbush flakes are a wonderful addition to bread, grills, pasta and as a pot herb.
We love to include it in rissoles, guacamole, salsa and dukka.
